    The Danger of Liquid Plumber

When a sink clogs, the first instinct is often to pour a bottle of chemical drain cleaner down it. Don't. These chemicals use intense heat to dissolve clogs, which warps PVC pipes and corrodes older metal pipes.

The Baking Soda and Vinegar Method

Pour half a cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by half a cup of white vinegar. Cover the drain with a plug to force the fizzing reaction downward into the clog. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then flush with boiling water.

    The Plunger Technique

A standard cup plunger works wonders on sinks. Ensure you have a tight seal, cover the overflow hole with a wet rag, and plunge vigorously to dislodge the blockage.

    Check the P-Trap

If natural methods fail, place a bucket under the curved pipe (P-trap) beneath your sink. Unscrew the slip nuts, remove the trap, and manually clear out the gunk. It's messy, but it works every time.
